Welcome to our school
The community at Gorseland Primary School warmly welcomes you. Our children, staff and governors are both pleased and proud to share with you a little about our school and encourage you to pay us a visit. In the meantime, please browse our website where you will gain an insight into life and learning at our lovely school.
Gorseland is a two-form entry primary school with a large Nursery and two specialist units. We are situated in Martlesham Heath, next to Kesgrave, and are fortunate enough to have vibrant and spacious outdoor facilities that bring learning and play to life both inside and outside of our classrooms.
Gorseland is an inclusive learning community where children and staff alike value being ready, respectful and safe in our endeavours to be the best we can be. As a staff, we feel it is our duty to foster and celebrate a love of learning through developing children who are self confident, hard working and resilient. Happy children who achieve success academically, socially and emotionally are proud children, a pride that definitely extends to the adults who guide and support them here at Gorseland.
As the new headteacher, starting my role in September 2024, I have been struck by the enthusiasm the children have for learning, the support and encouragement they have for each other and the desire they have to show and be their best. Gorseland staff have clearly demonstrated the deep commitment they have for our children and an unwavering energy to provide and deliver engaging, high quality teaching that captures the curiosity and captivates interests of our children.
